At Merrwell, we believe your data belongs to you. Our core philosophy is **Privacy First**. Because our applications are designed to run locally on your own hardware, we do not collect, store, or harvest your personal information or creative work.
1. Local Data Retention (The Core Principle)
Your Content stays Yours: All text, drafts, and creative material generated in **Novel Scribe**, **Inkwell**, and **Panel Works Publishing** are processed and stored strictly on your local device.Health & Task Data: Data entered into tracking applications like **Splinter**, **Titration**, and **Migraine Companion** is saved locally in your browser's storage or on your device. We do not have database access to your logs, symptoms, or schedules. You are in complete control of your data, including exporting it for your physician or deleting it entirely.
2. Local AI Processing
No Cloud Mining:** Our *LM Enabled* applications connect directly to your local AI server (such as **LM Studio**) using your own network's IP address. * Your prompts, ideas, and AI interactions never pass through Merrwell's servers, nor are they used to train external models.3. Data Collection and Security
No Accounts Required:** You do not need to create an account or log in to use the Assistant Store or download our utilities. * **Financial Transactions:** If you choose to support our work via e-transfer (to `helper@merrwell.ca`), your payment is processed securely through your own financial institution. Merrwell only sees the standard information provided by your bank by default (such as your name and email address associated with the transfer) and we never share this information.4. Third-Party Services
Our applications do not contain hidden trackers or third-party analytics. However, because our tools run on your local machine, your privacy is also subject to the privacy policies of the operating systems you use (Android, Windows, macOS, Linux) and any specific AI models you choose to download and run inside LM Studio.5.
